I have decided that 2012 is my year to get serious about writing. I’m giving myself a weekly quota of 5,000 words. That’s nothing compared to my grueling 14,000/wk quota during November. Also, I’m just coming back from a two week vacation and work has yet to get crazy busy on me. I actually had time to clean my desk today! So why do I feel the least creative and the least like writing ever? Why do I suddenly have no ideas that I’m excited to write about?

It could be many things. I’m just getting off of vacation, so my brain has to shift back into its rhythm. I had to get my every-three-months blood test and at the same time, I’m (Guys, cover your ears) about to start my period, so I might just be temporarily tired. Whatever the reason, I think I just have to ride it out until I feel creative again. Sorry, word count….

In the meantime, I’m going to blog about writing (sort of fake it til I make it) and catch up on the literal mountain of books I have waiting to be read.

I have one prospect for a novel rolling around in my head, but I can tell it’s not really cooked yet. More on that tomorrow. I’m going to try to post as close to daily as I can manage.

I’ll start posting word counts as soon as my muse returns. Until then, here’s a replacement progress box:
