Well, I guess I forgot to actually post about my plan to take a hiatus in March and get my writing shit together. Look, I even had it all written out, I just never got around to posting it:
Okay, I’m just too worn out and stressed out to keep up my quota this month. So, I’ve decided to take this month off. Instead of writing 2,000 words a day, my job is to sketch out between 9 and 15 novel ideas so that I have good solid starts for the rest of the year. I’ve been meaning to outline a bunch of ideas rattling around in my head anyway and haven’t had the time. So, I think this’ll be a good break. Even if I develop the pattern of writing two novels and taking a month off to draft or revise, that’d still be about 8 novels a year, which is fine with me.
Yeah, March was a busy, stressful month. Firstly, my Dad’s birthday, my parent’s anniversary, and my sister’s spring break all hit in March, so I was down in Wisconsin every weekend. Add to that car shopping and evaluations at work and it makes for a pretty stressful month.
Anyway, there are no birthdays in April, my evaluation went so well I might get a raise ^^, and I have a shiny new PT Cruiser. So, April should be a lot less stressful. It’s weird, I’ve actually missed writing. So much so that I spent part of March finishing up some old short stories and reading Clark/Lex or McKay/Sheppard smut (don’t judge me!).
In completely unrelated news, I think April’s novel will be a gay romance. I actually have two m/m romances on deck (I don’t know why romance; it’s not like I’ve ever even read one). And I have a f/f scifi-ish thing that I’m really excited about, too. I was actually going to work on the f/f one (It’s not a romance like the m/m novels; the main characters just happen to be a couple), but I guess all the m/m slash got to me.
Anyway, that’s the story in case anyone was confused.
